60 digital product ideas for coaches (with examples)

If you’re a coach and you want to add a product to your business that keeps selling while you’re focused on other things, this post is for you. I’ve put together 60 digital product ideas across 6 different formats, with 10 examples for each, covering everything from life coaching to financial coaching to grief coaching.

Whether you’re just starting out or you have an established business and want to add a low-maintenance income stream, there’s something here for you.

What is a digital product?

Digital products are non-physical items delivered in a digital format. For coaches, that typically means things like ebooks, workbooks, templates, audio recordings, online courses, and memberships. They can be downloaded or accessed online, which makes them easy to deliver automatically once they’re set up.

Unlike 1:1 coaching, digital products can be sold repeatedly without you having to put in more hours for each new client. That said, I’d push back a little on the idea that digital products equal passive income. They don’t require your time to deliver, but they do require consistent marketing to sell. Selling digital products is infinitely scalable, but it’s not a completely hands-off income stream.

The other advantage: digital products are low-cost to create and can be updated, expanded, or repurposed over time.

Choosing the right digital product for your coaching business

Before you start creating, it’s worth thinking through a few things:

Skills and expertise. The best digital product is one that comes naturally to you. If writing comes easily, an ebook is a good fit. If you’re comfortable on camera or audio, a course or podcast might suit you better.

Your audience. What are the specific problems your clients come to you with? A good digital product solves one of those problems clearly and completely.

Realistic expectations. A 2% conversion rate is average for digital products. That means for every 100 visitors to your sales page, you can expect around 2 purchases. There are things you can do to improve that number, but the point is: you’ll need traffic, not just a great product. The marketing matters as much as the product itself.

Types of digital products for coaches

Ebooks

Ebooks are one of the most common digital products for coaches, and for good reason. They’re relatively quick to create, low-cost to produce, and easy to deliver automatically. They work well as a standalone paid product, as a lead magnet (where you offer a free chapter or shorter version), or as a bonus bundled with a course.

An ebook works best when it covers a specific problem or topic in depth. Think of it as the written version of what you’d tell a client who asked “where do I even start with [topic]?”

You can create an ebook in Canva. If you don’t want to start from scratch, my ebook and workbook templates give you 89 pre-designed page layouts, available in both A4 and US Letter size, that you can customise to your brand in an afternoon.

Workbooks and worksheets

Workbooks take an ebook one step further by giving clients something to actively work through. Instead of just reading, they’re filling in prompts, completing exercises, and tracking their progress. That makes workbooks feel more practical and often more valuable.

You can sell a workbook on its own, bundle it with a course, or offer it as a companion to 1:1 coaching sessions. Worksheets are a lighter version of the same idea: a single page or small set of pages focused on one specific exercise or outcome.

Both are great for establishing credibility in your niche, because a well-designed workbook shows that you’ve thought through the process of getting from A to B.

Printables

Printables are single-page or short-form digital products that clients can print out and use. Think planners, trackers, checklists, affirmation cards, and calendars. They’re quick to create and quick to use, which makes them easy to sell at a lower price point.

They work well as an entry-level product or as an add-on to a larger offer. A coaching client who isn’t ready to buy a full course might happily spend a small amount on a weekly planner designed for exactly where they are right now.

My ebook and workbook templates include planner pages, habit trackers, checklists, and affirmation pages that are easy to turn into standalone printable products.

Audio products and private podcasts

If your topic doesn’t require visuals, audio is a flexible and often underused format. Clients can listen in the car, on a walk, while doing household tasks. That accessibility is genuinely useful.

You can deliver audio as a downloadable file, or set up a private podcast feed using a tool like Hello Audio (affiliate link), which lets listeners subscribe through their usual podcast app.

Online courses and workshops

Courses and workshops are the highest-value digital product format, and usually the highest-priced. The additional structure, video content, and depth of a course justifies a much higher price point than an ebook or workbook.

The trade-off is that they take more time to create. You’ll need video lessons (or audio with slides), workbooks or worksheets to support the learning, and ideally some interactive elements like quizzes or assignments.

For video lessons, my slide deck templates are a fast starting point. They include cover slides, content slides, framework slides, testimonial slides, and CTA slides, so you’re not building from scratch.

For accessibility, it’s worth adding closed captions and transcripts to your videos. Otter.ai (affiliate link) generates transcripts you can edit and export easily.

  • Empowerment essentials: building confidence that lasts (empowerment coaches)
  • Retirement planning: making the most of your next chapter (retirement coaches)

Membership sites

A membership site gives clients ongoing access to content and support for a recurring fee. That makes it one of the few digital product models that generates predictable monthly income.

Memberships typically include a mix of content (resources, workshops, templates, audio), a community space, and often regular live Q&As or group calls. The recurring revenue is the appeal. The requirement is consistent new content to keep members engaged, so it suits coaches who enjoy creating regularly and have a clear ongoing topic to work through.

  • Health and fitness community with monthly resources and live Q&As (health coaches)

Designing your digital products

I recommend writing your content in a Google Doc first, then copying it into Canva to design. Set up a brand kit in Canva so your colours and fonts are consistent across everything you create.

A few things that make a difference:

  • Use photos, illustrations, or simple infographics to break up long stretches of text
  • Use colour combinations and fonts that are easy to read on screen and in print
  • Keep layouts clean. More white space usually means more readable

If you want a shortcut, my Canva template shop has ebook and workbook templates and slide deck templates designed specifically for coaches and course creators. You can have a polished, professional product ready without spending days on design.

How to sell your digital products

You can start simply: a PayPal or Stripe checkout link, connected to an automated delivery system, is enough to make your first sale.

If you’re already using MailerLite (affiliate link) or Kit (affiliate link) for your email list, both have built-in options for selling digital products. For a more robust cart setup, ThriveCart (affiliate link) is a one-time fee with its own course platform included.

Once payment and delivery are set up, it’s time to promote.

First, decide whether you’ll sell it as an evergreen product or only during live launches. Evergreen means it’s available all the time, sold through automated systems. A launch means a defined open/close window with more active promotion.

For evergreen sales, a lead magnet connected to an automated email sequence is one of the most reliable systems. Offer a free taster (a chapter, a worksheet, a short audio) that leads naturally into the paid product, and set up emails that do the selling for you. My guide on lead magnets covers how to set this up, and if you’re looking for lead magnet ideas specifically, I have a dedicated post on lead magnet ideas for coaches too.

For launch promotion, social media content showing excerpts, results, or behind-the-scenes of the product helps. Once you have buyers, their testimonials become one of your strongest marketing assets. My 25 launch post ideas are a good starting point if you’re not sure what to post.

If you want help getting the right systems in place to sell your digital products consistently, the Free Evergreen Funnel Audit is a good first step. It’s a free 30-minute call where I walk through your current setup and show you where the gaps are.
