5 Black Friday promo ideas for course creators

This blog post contains affiliate links. This means that I may receive a commission (at no extra cost to you) if you click on a link and make a purchase. I only recommend products and services that I use & love, whether an affiliate relationship is in place or not.

Black Friday is a huge opportunity for course creators to boost sales and connect with more of your audience. Planning ahead is key to minimizing stress. Whether you’re considering early prep or finding yourself in the last days before Black Friday, these ideas will help you create a successful Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion.

1. Offer exciting discounts

Consider bundling your courses at a special promotional price. You could offer a percentage off or a buy-one, get-one deal where your clients get a second course free with their purchase. This strategy can encourage your audience to explore multiple aspects of what you offer, guiding them to dive deeper into your niche.

If you don’t have multiple courses to bundle, you can still create buzz with a special limited-time discount. Flash sales are perfect for creating urgency and excitement, motivating people to secure your course at a special price while it lasts.

2. Provide Black Friday-only bonuses

Who says discounts have to be the only draw? Instead, consider running a special promo with exclusive bonuses available only on Black Friday. You could add bonuses like Live Q&A sessions, exclusive access to recorded webinars, additional downloadable resources like eBooks or templates, or even one-on-one coaching sessions for the first X number of buyers. These bonuses add immense value without devaluing your course.

3. Donating a % of sales to a charity

This is a win-win. People who already want to buy your course will feel extra good knowing a percentage of their money is going to a good cause! Plus, it builds a positive brand image and shows your commitment to making a difference.

4. Create something new

If you’re feeling up for it, create something new to offer for Black Friday. You could pre-sell a new course that you’re planning to launch soon. This validates your idea AND gets people excited and invested in what’s coming next.

Alternatively, you can host a live, workshop-style course. Workshops are perfect for providing hands-on learning and immediate value. Plus, they can be a great way to gather real-time feedback and build a stronger connection with your audience. If you haven’t hosted one before, I recommend checking out Elizabeth Goddard’s free training The 10 Day Offer: Created, Launched and Sold (affiliate link).

5. Affiliate promo

Another great idea is to create a holiday gift guide with affiliate links. Look around at what you could be sharing with your audience – maybe books, tech tools, wellness products, or even other courses. If they have affiliate programs, make sure to join them. This way, you can provide value to your audience while earning a commission on any sales made through your links.
